SEASIDE MUSIC THEATER'S
STUDENT ADVISORY BOARD presents
The 4th Annual Life Is A Cabaret Benefit:
DEAR MOTHER
A musical tribute to moms & motherhood.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL, APRIL 12, 2004 - Central Floridians do not have to stress about the perfect gift for Mom this year. Celebrate Mother's Day with music, motion, and laughter at the 4th Annual Life Is A Cabaret Benefit performance, put on by Seaside Music Theater's Student Advisory Board (SAB), endearingly subtitled "Dear Mother."

This variety show, which features material from current and past Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals, pays tribute to moms and motherhood with an eclectic assortment of touching ballads, energetic dance numbers, and humorous scenes and monologues selected and performed by Volusia and Flagler counties' talented up-and-comers. Most importantly, notes SAB President Christine Simmons, the event is great entertainment for a great cause.

"Life is a Cabaret is so special because we use our talents and gifts to raise money to bring kids to theater who may have the same talent and gifts but may never have been exposed to theater before," says Simmons of the show which raises funds to cover the cost of transportation and admission for over 800 disadvantaged school children for a performance of SMT's world premiere production of Peter Rabbit, which runs May 28 - August 14.

The SMT Student Advisory Board is comprised of juniors and seniors from high school theater arts programs throughout Volusia and Flagler counties. This year's Life is a Cabaret performers include: from Seabreeze High - Hillary Anderson, Colleen Kiriazes, Christine Simmons, Rachel Smith, and Corey Vaissiere; from Spruce Creek High School - Amy Dresser, Sera Gardner, Megan Herwald, Alison Reid, Tyler Sherrier, Kristen Stone and Casey Vincent; from Father Lopez High - Cassie Millhouse; from Deland High School - Celine Andre; from Flagler-Palm Coast High - Jesse Chapman, Bianca Webb, and Jill Vanderoef; and home-schooled students Nick Scalzo and Zach Catir.

So show your love and appreciation for Mom with an evening at the theater, and help the SMT Student Advisory Board reach its goal of bringing more kids to the theater than ever before. Reserve your spots now for the very special Life Is A Cabaret: Dear Mother Benefit at SMT Downtown, Mother's Day, May 9, 2004. The show begins promptly at 4:00 p.m. giving you enough time to take Mom for a post-show dinner! Purchase tickets at the door on the day of the performance or the SMT Box Office, 176 N. Beach Street, (386) 252-6200. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children (under 12).
