SYNOPSIS

"The Telephone" comically examines modern romance as Ben (Joseph Spieldenner) attempts to propose to his girlfriend Lucy (Elizabeth Stanley) -- if only she would get off the phone!

"The Medium" explores the world of the supernatural as the fraudulent Madame Flora (Jane Christeson, contralto), in the midst of conducting a séance, feels a spectral hand on her neck. She accuses her daughter Monica (Angela Sacco, soprano) and mute assistant Toby (Luke Griswold) of playing a cruel trick. Was Madame Flora going mad, or was the otherworld extracting revenge? The cast included Michael Shiles (baritone) and Emily Carroll (soprano) as Mr. and Mrs. Gobineau. Shannon Polly (mezzo-soprano) performed the role of Mrs. Nolan.

SMT's Menotti tribute treat for both ear, eye
Gian Carlo Menotti, the composer who created two Pulitzer-winning musicals as well as one of the most ubiquitous Christmas classics, "Amahl and the Night Visitors," plans to celebrate his 90th birthday next week.

SMT on line with ‘Medium,’ ‘Telephone’
There's a point to Seaside Music Theater's pairing two very different Gian Carlo Menotti musical plays -- "The Telephone" and "The Medium."

‘Camelot’ VIDEO/DVD

Here's a film version of "The Medium" directed by Gian Carlo Menotti and starring Marie Powers, Anna Maria Alberghetti, Leopoldo Savona, Belva Kibler, Beverly Dame, and Donald Morgan.
