Seaside Music Theater, a non-profit professional theater in Daytona Beach, FL, seeks a motivated and skilled individual to serve as a full-time development intern during its 2008 summer season, which will feature Les Miserables, The Wizard of Oz, Backwards in High Heels, Altar Boyz, and Miss Nelson is Missing.
Intern will report to the Director of Development and works closely with department staff, patrons, sponsors, board members and volunteers. Skills and work history requirements include at least two years of experience in administrative office work, preferably in fundraising for the arts or other non-profit organization; strong written and verbal communication skills critical; excellent organizational skills, good telephone skills, energetic, creative, flexible, personable and a professional appearance at all times a must. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet necessary. Daily hours primarily from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and will also require occasional evenings and weekends for special events and performances.
Working with the Director of Development, the development intern will assist in planning and executing special events, hospitality activities, and donor rehearsals. Specific duties may include management, recruitment and cultivation of volunteers, participants and in-kind sponsors, planning and designing print materials, acknowledgment letters, decorations and other event related activities, data management and maintaining donor records.
Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid driver's license and automobile. Travel stipend of $100.00 for those traveling more than 500 miles, shared housing provided and weekly salary of $225.00.
